भारतीय सेना में देशभक्ति का जुनून लिए 341 युवा अफसर आज भारतीय सेना का हिस्सा बन गए। देहरादून में भारी बारिश और तेज हवाओं के कारण इस बार कार्यक्रम को डिले किया गया, यह परेड सुबह 8 बजे से शुरू हुई। परेड में अंतिम पग पार करने के बाद 341 युवा अफसरों की टोली देश पर मर-मिटने की शपथ लेकर भारतीय सेना में शामिल हो गई। जबकि 84 युवा सैन्य अधिकारी नौ मित्र देशों अफगानिस्तान, तजाकिस्तान, भूटान, मॉरीशस, श्रीलंका, वियतनाम, टोंगा, मालदीव और किर्गिस्तान की सेना का अभिन्न अंग बने। सुबह ऐतिहासिक चेटवुड भवन के सामने ड्रिल स्क्वायर पर परेड शुरू हुई। सेना के दक्षिण-पश्चिमी कमान के जनरल ऑफिसर कमांडिंग ले. जनरल आरपी सिंह ने बतौर रिव्यूइंग ऑफिसर परेड का निरीक्षण कर जेंटलमैन कैडेट्स से सलामी ली। पासिंग आउट परेड में पीपिंग सेरेमनी के दौरान जेंटलमैन कैडेट्स के परिजन भी मौजूद रहते थे, लेकिन कोरोना की वजह से इस बार भी परेड सादगी से आयोजित हुई। पीओपी में शपथ लेने वाले 341 जेंटलमैन कैडेट्स में 37 कैडेट उत्तराखंड के हैं।भारतीय सैन्य अकादमी देश-विदेश की सेना को 62 हजार 987 युवा अधिकारी दे चुकी है। जिनमें मित्र देशों को मिले 2587 सैन्य अधिकारी भी शामिल हैं।
