गंगा दशहरा और निर्जला एकादशी पर्व स्नान पर हरिद्वार में लाखों श्रद्धालुओं की भीड़ उमड़ने की संभावनाएं को देखेते हुए पुलिस-प्रशासन ने तैयारियां चाक चौबंद की। हरकी पैड़ी क्षेत्र में भीड़ नियंत्रण के लिए बुधवार शाम से बैरिकेडिंग कर दी गई। थी। घाटों पर ड्रोन से निगरानी की जा रही है। बुधवार को डीएम और एसएसपी ने स्नान पर्व पर ड्यूटी करने वाले अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों की जानकारी दी।

डीएम ने कहा कि नौ जून को गंगा दशहरा और 11 जून को निर्जला एकादशी है। दोनों हिंदू आस्था के बड़े पर्व हैं। कहा कि श्रद्धालुओं की भीड़ उमड़ने पर समस्त व्यवस्थाओं को चुनौती के रूप पूर्ण करना होगा। आईजी डॉ. योगेंद्र रावत ने अधीक्षक नगर को मेले का प्रभारी अधिकारी नामित किया।
श्रद्धालुओं के वाहनों को निर्धारित पार्किंग पर ही खड़ा करवाया गया। किसी भी वाहन को राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग एवं अन्य मार्गों के किनारे खड़े नहीं होने दिया गया।
अपर रोड से लेकर भीमगोड़ा जीरो जोन किया गया है। हरकी पैड़ी समेत अत्यधिक भीड़ वाले क्षेत्रों में पर्याप्त मात्रा में पुलिस बल तैनात है।
गंगा दशहरा स्नान और निर्जला एकादशी पर्व स्नान के लिए मेला क्षेत्र को चार सुपर जोन, 16 जोन और 37 सेक्टर में बांटा गया है।
जिलाधिकारी विनय शंकर पांडेय ने बताया कि हरकी पैड़ी एवं अन्य घाटों पर भीड़ एकत्र नहीं होने दी जाएगी। घाटों पर तैनात पुलिस कर्मी श्रद्धालुओं की भीड़ नियंत्रित करेंगे।
